Bulgaria's chess Grandmaster Vesselin Topalov will be among the eight world's best chess players invited to participate in the 2005 FIDE World Championship.

The Championship is to take place in San Luis, Argentina starting September 27 to end November 16.

USD 300,000 from the USD 1 M tournament will go to the winner.
The International Chess Federation or World Chess (FIDE) was founded in Paris in 1924 and has turned into the major event in the chess world.

FIDE awards the titles of International Grandmaster (GM), International Master (IM), FIDE Master (FM), and other titles.
