Bomb Kills Nine Soldiers Near Baghdad

A roadside bomb hit an Iraqi army convoy on the western outskirts of Baghdad on Saturday, killing nine soldiers and wounding 20 others, police said. A driver of a civilian car was also killed after the blast, as Iraqi soldiers opened fire randomly. The attack took place at Abu Ghraib area, several kilometres away from the notorious prison of Abu Ghraib. In a separate incident, insurgents detonated a roadside bomb in the northern city of Mosul as an Iraqi army convoy passed by, wounding three soldiers, while another roadside bomb hit a police car and wounded two policemen.
