British Nuclear Group has signalled its intentions to significantly expand its business operations in Eastern Europe.

The specialist nuclear decommissioning and clean-up company is planning to establish an office in Prague, which will serve as a point of commercial focus for the region, and in particular the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Russia and Bulgaria.

The company has been working as a consultant to the Project management Group with Bulgaria's Kozlodyu nuclear power plant.

"Our Project Services business is already active in Eastern Europe, often working in successful partnership with local contractors, and this is a model we wish to develop as we significantly increase our operations in this part of the world," British Nuclear Group CEO Lawrie Haynes said.
