RUSSIANS WILLING TO BUY `KAOUTCHOUK` PLC

Russian company is willing to buy the Pasardzhik-based `Kaoutchouk` PLC. for $20 M. `Kaoutchouk` PLC is not for sale`, the directors Eng. Velkov and Eng. Ivan Slavkov commented. `Kaoutchouk` PLC WMA is the owner of the company with 700 workers and employees holding shares. The buyer committed himself to pay about $11 M in 10-year installments. The fresh investments` contract is worth $700 M. The plant needs a loan to execute its ambitious plan for 2001. A general shareholders` meeting will be held on June 20 to decide whether to mortgage part of the long-term assets of the shareholders` venture.
