The thought of the nearing World Cup qualifier against Sweden has become an obsession for Bulgarian fans, it has emerged this week.
Hundreds of Bulgarians have queued up in front of the tickets sale office since Tuesday, buying off a record 26,000 tickets in just five hours in the first day of sale.
The ticket craze continued on Wednesday, with new crowds lining up in front of the Vassil Levski Stadium. People are flocking to the site from early morning, the sports administration has said.
The total number of tickets for sale was set at 38,000, meaning that at least 70% was snapped up on Tuesday alone.
The hosts have reserved 200 tickets for Swedish officials and 280 for Scandinavian fans.
Both Bulgaria and Sweden are regarding the March 26 encounter as crucial for reaching the World Cup challenge.
