A state funeral for an Italian secret service agent killed in Iraq took place in Rome Monday. Nicola Calipari was killed by US forces in Iraq last week as he was bringing a freed Italian hostage to safety in Baghdad. In attendance at the funeral were Italy's top politicians, including Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Meanwhile, US forces in Iraq faced further strains with allies on Monday when Bulgaria announced American troops had probably shot dead one of its soldiers. Bulgarian Jr Sgt Grudi Grudev was killed in southern Iraq on Friday when US forces reportedly fired on his patrol.
