Pope Gives Silent Blessing from Hospital

Pope John Paul II has delivered a brief and silent blessing to pilgrims from his hospital window in Rome. The ailing pontiff is recovering from throat surgery, and so far there has been no indication on when he will be well enough to leave hospital. On Sunday, he watched Angelus prayers in St Peter's Square from a wheelchair. The prayers were led by Archbishop Leonardo Sandri for the second time in two weeks.
