Bulgaria chose the word "thanks" (blagodarya) for the word vested in most beauty in the Bulgarian language, according to a local radio voting.
"Thanks" garnered 11% of all votes cast by the 2,000 Bulgarians that participated in the voting. The words "love" (obich) with 9% and "Bulgaria" with 7% were ranked second and third in the competition.
The Retro Radio poll, executed through SMS voting, started February 3 and announced the final results March 3, Bulgaria's national holiday.
Among the other words included in the top ten of the "Most Beautiful Bulgarian word" competition were homeland, freedom, mama and child.
