A judge and a lawyer working for the special tribunal that will put Saddam Hussein on trial have been shot dead, Iraqi officials revealed on Wednesday. In a separate incident, a car bomb outside an army recruitment centre in Baghdad killed six soldiers. The judge, Barwez Mohammed Mahmoud al-Merwani, and his son, lawyer Aryan Barwez al-Merwani, were killed yesterday in Baghdad. A tribunal official denied that the murders had anything to do with their employment by the tribunal.
