Israel Threatens to Freeze Peace Process

Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has threatened to halt peace efforts with Palestinians unless they take "vigorous action" against militants. Sharon was addressing his cabinet for the first time since Friday's suicide bomb attack on a nightclub in Tel Aviv that killed four people. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has vowed to punish those responsible. Israel also blamed Syria for backing the militants, but the Syrian foreign minister denied any responsibility.
