The Spanish Embassy in Sofia has launched preparations to mark four centenaries since the first edition of Don Quixote novel was printed out.
The masterpiece of Servantes, which according to recent surveys is known to every fourth person in the world, will be the core of 2005 culture program to be executed by Spain's diplomatic mission in Sofia, Ambassador Fernando Arias said on Tuesday.
He pointed out Servantes was the best envoy of Spain throughout the globe.
The Spanish culture program this year includes exhibitions, symphony orchestra and flamenco displays, Spanish cinema week, symposiums and linguistic congresses, theatre performances and cuisine events.
The diplomatic mission hopes 2005 to be the first year of open doors for the long-expected Servantes Culture Institute.
