The indictment against Michael Chernoy and Gad Zeevi will be filed in court within two months, “Globes” Izraeli Daily reported, citing a source from the police. The article points out that ever since he emigrated in 1994 he has been suspected of being one of the key figures in Russia’s organized crime who try to take advantage of Izrael and its institutions for promoting their own interests and money laundering. Chernoy is expected to be accused of giving a bribe to a municipality council official in the city of Ejlat. The bribe is said to be part of a much bigger deal. “Globes” Daily expects the next two months to bring more proofs of Chernoy’s activities. In another article “Globes” Daily reports that the bank consortium that financed Zeevi’s acquisition of a 20% stake in the Israeli telecom monopolist Bezeq will decide whether to reschedule its USD 750 M loan in the coming week. Gad Zeevi owns a 75% in the Bulgarian national carrier Balkan Airlines. The Russian businessman Michael Chernoy was expelled from Bulgaria in 2000 on suspicions of money laundering.
