Carrots can be used to prevent the occurrence and development of cancer cells in body, according to a latest research.
Carrots contain certain compounds that have good anti-cancer properties, but it is still unclear which component of the vegetable has anti-cancer effects.
A team of researchers at University of Newcastle in England assisted by scientists from Denmark have found certain clue about the same. They have confirmed the presence of a natural pesticide produced by the carrot called falcarinol. Tested on rats it was found to reduce malignancies by a third.
The study was done on 24 rats, which were detected for cancer cells and existence of tumours that simulated human colorectal cancer.
