General Jailed over Dubrovnik Siege

A former Yugoslav general has been sentenced to eight years in prison over the 1991 siege of the town of Dubrovnik, Croatia. The UN war crimes tribunal at the Hague ruled that Pavle Strugar did not order the bombing but failed to stop the attack when he had that chance. At least 50 people died and hundreds were wounded during the three-month siege of Dubrovnik. The December 6, 1991 bombing over the city destroyed much of its medieval Old Town.
