Cartoon Slapped for Promoting Homosexuality

The makers of popular SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon are facing a wave of criticism for "promoting homosexuality".

The US Focus on The Family organization said that the cartoon figure appeared in a video with children's TV characters Barney and Jimmy Neutron, and the film involves a rendition of the 1979 hit song "We Are Family," which promotes homosexuality.

Focus on the Family founder James Dobson said that the makers of the film were planning to mail it to thousands of elementary schools to promote a tolerance pledge that includes tolerance for differences of sexual identity.

Video creator Nile Rodgers the said that he fails to understand motivation of his critics.
