Mass Protests to Paralyze France

Nationwide protests are expected to cause widespread disruption across the public sector in France. Postal staff protests on Tuesday will be followed by railway and electricity workers on Wednesday and teachers and other civil servants on Thursday. The strikes are being seen as an important test both for the centre-right government of President Jacques Chirac and the unions.
