Stormy Winds Batter Britain Again

World | January 12, 2005, Wednesday // 00:00

Two bodies have been found off the coast of western Scotland after winds of more than 120 mph tore across the North. The find, if connected, would take the death toll from last night's storms to five. Power is slowly being restored to the worst-hit areas but 60,000 people are without electricity in Scotland. Electricity companies say 150,000 homes have been reconnected. Thousands were left without electricity and water after wind and rain lashed Scotland and northern England. Some 1,000 households are also without power in Northern Ireland.
