Laura Petkova, born a minute after New Year advent on January 1 is Bulgaria's BABY 2005, as the lot fell on her on Tuesday.
The small lady competed with a boy and a girl from different Bulgarian towns who also took first breath in the first minute of 2005.
The BABY 2005 event is traditionally organized by the "9 Months" magazine and the winning newborn has a "destine-maker" a popular personality. The campaign takes place for a 6th consecutive year and is designed mainly for promoting reproduction goals.
At an official ceremony to be held January 23 Interior Ministry's Chief Secretary General Lieutenant Boyko Borisov will award the last baby of 2004 - Denitsa from the town of Tcherven Brjag, north Bulgaria.
The famous TV anchor Niki Kanchev, host of Big Brother Bulgaria, will destine BABY 2005 Laura Petkova from the northern town of Kula.
Bulgarian hospitals boasted with some 70,000 babies born in 2004, or 2.4% increase than the previous year.
