A gigantic rooster made of ice perched in the central square in Lithuania's capital Vilnius to celebrate the incoming New Year, which according to the Chinese calendar is the Year of the Rooster.

Young artist Andrius Petkus, who carved the rooster out of huge chunks of ice, expects it to remain unscathed for at least several weeks due to the notoriously low temperatures in the Lithuania's capital at this time of the year. The sculpture is five-meter long and weighs six tons.

The Chinese horoscope tells us Rooster People are quite talented and capable. They are always devoted to their work and have a reputation for being the hardest of workers. Rooster People are deep thinkers and are pioneers in spirit.
