A suicide bomber driving a taxi killed two people near the headquarters of interim Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's party in Baghdad on Monday. The bomber tried to target a security checkpoint on the road leading to the party's offices in western Baghdad but collided with a police pick-up truck and exploded, setting nearby vehicles ablaze and sending up plumes of black smoke. The blast, which also wounded at least 23 people, came a day after suicide car bombers struck a bus packed with Iraqi National Guards north of Baghdad, killing 26 people.
