Bulgaria's alpinists Lyubomir Ivanov and Doychin Vassilev conquered the Antarctic Mizia peak.

The two alpinists are part of the Bulgarian Antarctic mission, dubbed Tangra 2004. The 604 m Mizia peak is located in the so-called Vidin eminences, which rise in the northern part of the Livingston Island. It has not been conquered by a man so far.

The expedition studied the routes to Lyaskovets Peak and Falsa Aguja Peak, as it is set to improve the mapping of the mountain massif of Tangra, situated on Livingston Island in the South Shetlands archipelago.

The sixteen-member expedition, including Everest-topper Doychin Vassilev, will build a purifying installation and make research on global warming. It departed for the Antarctic November 15.
