More than BGN 1 M have been collected so far under the national charity campaign " The Bulgarian Christmas."
A total of BGN 1,002,915 have been collected by December 26. Some BGN 576,618 were gathered through telephone calls, while the other BGN 368,353 were transferred to the special bank account of the campaign, the organizers announced.
Another BGN 4,442 were collected during the special Christmas concert that took place on December 25. There are also many contributors that will pay some BGN 53,502 for the treatment of some children or will supply the children's clinics in the country with special apparatuses and medcines.
The organizers also reported that many Bulgarians living abroad have also declared their willingness to join the Bulgarian Christmas.
The campaign, organized for the second time in Bulgaria and taking place under the patronage of President Georgi Parvanov, was launched December 1 and will go on to December 31. The money collected will be given to the Bulgarian children in need.
