Bulgaria has sorted out its top ten nominees for the Athlete of The Year Award, bringing together some of the most brilliant examples from the sport grounds for 2004.

The list includes Olympic shooting champion Maria Grozdeva, weightlifting Gold winner Milen Dobrev, Silver and Bronze medallist Yordan Yovtchev, weightlifter Velichko Cholakov, boxer Boris Georgiev, judo player Georgi Georgiev, ice dancers Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski, rower Ivo Yanakiev, young sprinting talent Ivet Lalova and world chess champion Antoaneta Dobreva.

The ten were chosen out of a total of 48 outstanding Bulgarian sportspersons.

One of the nominees will scoop the Athlete of The Year prize on December 21, and drive home in a brand new Mazda.

The same prize will go to the top coach of the year.
