As the Formula 1 is looking to stage two more grands prix in Eastern Europe, both Romania and Bulgaria have expressed interest in welcoming the traveling circus on their land.

In 2005, only Hungary will represent the region on the grand prix calendar, the HomeofF1.com online edition informs.

A Romanian race may take place in the Arad region, with HOK - the company involved in Arsenal's new football stadium - commissioned to design a track. Romanian government is expected to put aside up to USD 100 M for the project.

Bulgaria's town of Sliven has already put up plans for building a F1 track to the south outskirts of the Balkans Chain. The ambitious project to offer a track for world Grand Prix events is estimated at about EUR 200-250 M.
