Bush Vows Europe Trip

US President George Bush has pledged to travel to Europe in an attempt to get transatlantic relations back on track. He declared readiness to work to deepen the transatlantic ties with the nations of Europe, said President Bush on Friday, just ten days after he was voted into a second term in office. America to effectively fight terror and to overcome poverty and disease and despair. The aim of the trip, which is to take place early in 2005 is "to remind people that the world is better off ... when we work together. The US President's pledge comes after four years of bumpy relations which saw the US and the EU fall out over the Iraq war, the general fight against terrorism, the Kyoto Protocol on Climate Change, the International Criminal Court and a whole series of trade issues.
