France supports Bulgaria and Romania in their efforts to become members of the European Union, the Bulgarian Economy Ministry and deputy Prime Minister Nikolay Vassilev said after his meeting with Pierre Moscovici, delegated French minister responsible for European Affairs with the French Foreign Ministry. Moscovici confirmed the stand voiced by French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine that all 12 EU applicants should join the union simultaneously. The EU should have not 20 or 25 members but at least 27, including Bulgaria and Romania, Moscovici added.France is ready to become Bulgaria's advocate in the European Union, according to Moscovici. Moscovici will pay a visit to Bulgaria on 5th and 6th December.
