TRANSPORT MINISTER: RAILWAYS COMPANY RESTRUCTURING TOO FAST

“Bulgaria hurried with the restructuring of the State Railways Company when dividing it into two companies – for transportation and for infrastructure maintenance,” Minister of Transport and Telecommunications Plamen Petrov announced upon his return from Brussels. In Brussels, Petrov participated in a meeting of the transport ministers of the EU candidate-member countries. According to Plamen Petrov a broad discussion should be launched on delayed application of the Railway Company Law application since the beginning of 2002. according to him, the railway company is just formally divided. Only the tariff and the normative license base of the private railway carriers are adopted. “There are still things that must be specified,” Petrov said.
