Bulgarian actor Yasen Peyankov stars in the newest movie of Robert Altman "The Company" that will be presented in Sofia during the Kinomania fest.
"The Company," written by and starring "Scream" star and capable dancer Neve Campbell, is a colorful look inside the workings of a leading ballet company with eye-catching work by some leading choreographers. The movie is a look at the world of ballet as only unique Robert Altman could do it.
The actress trained with the Joffrey Ballet two years for her role. The Company latches on most closely to Ry, a young, aspiring dancer in the Chicago-based Joffrey Ballet ensemble. She acts, initially, as the way into this hermetically sealed world as she works towards her first solo performance, whilst trying to balance all the extraneous facets of a second job and, right at the end of the queue, a social life.
Peyankov, who left Bulgaria in 1990, pays Justin's mentor. Yasen Peyankov graduated the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. Before staring at Altman's movie Peyankov has also stared at "Novocaine", "U.S. Marshalls" and "Payback."
The Bulgarian joined the famous Steppenwolf assembly in 2002.
