Bulgaria's National Ballet supported by the Embassy of the United States will stage the performance of two works by George Balanchine - "Serenade" and "Who Cares?" - on November 19, 20, and December 4.

The National Ballet of Sofia joins sixty ballet companies around the world paying tribute this year to George Balanchine, with the assistance of The Balanchine Trust.

The premiere of "Serenade" and performance of "Who Cares?" will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the great American choreographer George Balanchine and celebrate this legendary figure who introduced ballet to America and electrified the art form worldwide with his expressive creativity and musical passion.

Adam Luders, Balanchine Repititeur and principle dancer under George Balanchine for twenty years, is in Sofia to stage the two productions.
