Poll: Bozhinov is Italy's Top Shot

Bulgarian teenage striker Valeri Bozhinov emerged to be the top sensation in Italy's Serie A, as a special online survey was carried out.

The vote was launched by Italian sport source Sportal.it. Almost 40% of the participants pointed Bozhinov, 18, to be the hottest new talent on the Italian field.

The young striker was also nominated for this year's Golden Boy Award, presented to Europe's best young talents. The award, which was founded by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, went last year to Dutch Raphael Van Der Vaart.

Bozhinov's nomination comes after a year of high-class performance both with the Bulgarian national team and with Italian Lecce. The young striker made his national team debut at EURO 2004, and scored his first goal with the squad about a month later, in a friendly match against Eire.
