A militant group calling itself the Islamic Army in Iraq said it had killed two Macedonian hostages whom it accused of spying for the United States, Arabic television Al-Jazeera said Monday. The group said in a statement that its "security apparatus arrested the two men a few days ago as they left a US base in Iraq. Interrogation of the two individuals and documents found on them proved they spied for US forces," the news channel said. The Qatar-based TV channel has received a video tape showing the killing of the men and a statement from the Islamic Army in Iraq. Footage aired by Al-Jazeera showed two men and their identity cards with a banner of the group in the background. The names of the hostages were not disclosed. The Islamic Army in Iraq took two French journalists hostage 60 days ago.
