Ten New Kidnap Victims in Iraq

World | September 30, 2004, Thursday // 00:00

The Arab TV channel Al-Jazeera showed footage Thursday of ten new hostages seized in Iraq by militants. The hostages - six Iraqis, two Lebanese and two Indonesian women - were kidnapped by The Islamic Army in Iraq, according to Al-Jazeera. The same group has claimed responsibility for seizing two French journalists last month. The ten hostages are electronic firm employees. So far there is no information on when or where they were abducted and no demands were put. More than 100 foreign hostages have been taken in Iraq since the end of the US-led invasion. Dozens are known to have been killed.
