Bulgaria's Prime Minister Simeon Saxe- Coburg presented King Juan Carlos I of Spain a young female Bulgarian Shepherd Dog.

Saxe-Coburg and his wife Margarita-Gomez Acebo had an official dinner with King Juan Carlos and Queen Sophia. It was first reported that the dinner would be a private one, but then Bulgarian and Spanish ministers as well as Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and his wife were invited to the dinner given by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sophia.

The present was given to Spain's King on Wednesday evening, Governmental Spokesman Dimitar Tsonev said. Bulgaria's prime minister promised to send a male dog of the same breed in a couple of months so that two-month-old Zana Savel Hal would have a partner to propagate the breed.
