A special tender will decide what will be the technology that will be used at Bulgaria's second nuclear power plant in Belene.

Energy Minister Milko Kovachev said that most probably that will be decided by the end of 2004.

The technical and economic analysis of the consultant in the Belene project is now ready. The report has focused on all reactor options. The economic part of the report is yet to be prepared as the bidders' commitments will be clear once they file their offers, Kovachev explained.

Bulgaria's second nuclear plant in Belene was re-launched for construction after a government decision end of last year. It had been set to a halt in 1992 due to protests from environmentalists.
