The Art Museum in Portland, US state of Oregon, hosts a new exhibition of popular Christo, the Bulgaria-born New York artist, enojoying global fame with his architecture packing projects.

The exhibition includes photos and preliminary drafts of the project for packing Paris' Pont Neuf in 1985, the idea for which had developed for more than 10 years.

Christo and his wife Jeanne Claude has organized a series of exhibitions around the world as a way of funding their ambitious project-to-come in Central Park, New York - The Gates.

The 7500 Gates, 4.87 m high, will follow the edges of the walkways and will be perpendicular to the selected 23 miles of footpaths in Central Park. Free hanging saffron colored fabric panels suspended from the horizontal top part of the gates will come down to approximately 2.13 m above the ground.

The temporary work of art The Gates is scheduled for February 2005, and will remain for 16 days, then the 7,500 Gates shall be removed and the materials will be recycled.
