Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov plans to name a street or a square in Sofia after the late Bulgarian basso Nikolai Ghiaurov.

Parvanov met Ghiaurov's wife opera soprano singer Mirella Freni, who came to Bulgaria to attend Monday's tribute to the famous basso.

Parvanov and Freni also discussed a possible concert dedicated to Ghiaurov that would be organized in Milan.

Ghiaurov died June 2 in an Italian hospital after an illness. He lived for years in Italy's Modena together with his wife, Mirella Freni. He was to turn 75 on September 13.
