At least 200 Bulgarian websites are expected to take part in this year's BG Site contest, organizers disclosed. Almost 100 have already applied for taking part.
Further interest was drawn to the initiative on Sunday, when an Internet fans party took place in downtown Sofia.
Hand-in-hand, people who had gathered in front of the National Palace of Culture queued and twisted to represent a huge living @, the most popular symbol on the net.
For the first time the "BG Site 2004" contest will take place under the aegis of the Bulgaria's Web Association (BWA) - the only professional organization of the Bulgarian web specialists. BWA will organize special initiatives aiming to promote the Bulgarian web. These initiatives will take place in the autumn 2004 before the starting of the campaign.
The registration in "BG Site 2004" contest starts July 15 and ends September 25. Those who wish to participate in the contest can register at www.bgsite.org, while the prizes will be awarded November 1.
The unique event organized by ABC Design & Communication is well recognized among the IT professionals and the Bulgarian community. The organizers have partnered M3 Communications, Group, Inc. and PricewaterhouseCooper.
