Up to 24 people were killed on the Caribbean island of Grenada by hurricane Ivan, another nine died in Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Tobago. Hurricane Ivan is approaching Jamaica, where people were ordered to take emergency precautions before a predicted impact on Friday. The storm's winds have reached 240 km/h.
