Baghdad's governor Ali Radhi al-Haydary survived an assassination attempt after fire was opened on his convoy and a car bomb exploded by the roadside. One bystander was killed in the attack, while the governor was unhurt. At around 9 am militants opened fire at his convoy and then detonated a car bomb... The governor is safe. There are victims but we don't know how many, an Iraqi officer said.
