The twelve medals conquered by the Bulgarian team in Athens are the best answer to all worries that the sportsmen might be affected by the recent bidding scandal, Mario Pescante, President of the European Olympic Committees told Novinite.com.

Mr Pescante said that IOC will endeavour to carefully consider the case in which Bulgarian IOC member Ivan Slavkov has been involved.

Slavkov's IOC membership was suspended after he was involved in a bidding scandal. Days ahead the start of the Olympics 2004 in Athens a scandalous BBC Panorama documentary showed Ivan Slavkov meeting with fake London businessmen in Sofia and declaring readiness to negotiate favors.

BBC reporters posed as business consultants, keen to help bring the 2012 games Olympics to London's East End.

Ivan Slavkov temporarily retired as president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and Football Association in the wake of the bidding scandal.
