Bulgarian young tennis talent Sesil Karatantcheva qualified for the US Open, just days after turning 15 years of age.

In her third match, the 174-seeded Karatantcheva stopped Eva Birnerova of the Czech Republic 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Her storm on the tennis court has launched her with 34 places higher in the WTA ranking.

The US Open tournament, which kicks off on Monday, will see the match between Bulgaria's Roland Garos girls champion and Svetlana Kuznetsova from Russia.

The 22-seeded Maggie Maleeva will also stage in the US Open against Italy's Flavia Penetta.
