Bulgaria has received its first silver medal on the Olympic games 2004 in Athens, as Jordan Jovtchev ended second in the rings' finals on Sunday night.

The 31-year-old Bulgarian was obviously neglected by host-dominated jury, which topped the Greek Dimostenis Tombako outscoring the finalists with 9.862, while Jovtchev garnered 9.850.

Earlier on Sunday, Bulgaria's best gymnast Jordan Jovtchev won the bronze medal at the men's floor exercise with a final result of 9.775.

Ahead of this year's Olympic games the International Gymnastics Federation awarded an "E" rating to a new element on still rings, as Jordan Jovtchev was the first one to perform it.

Jovtchev's new element has the gymnast lowering from an inverted cross position to a momentary inverted hang, and then rotating and lifting backward to a horizontal cross position with the body between the rings.
