Bulgaria's Petar Stojchev is the winner of this year's 18th International Ohrid Swimming Marathon, which ended on Saturday.

Clocking a total of 5 hours, 31 minutes and 11 seconds, Stoichev left behind himself Frenchman Stephan Gomez and Russian Yury Hodinov, in second and third places respectively.

This is Petar Stojchev's fourth victory at the traditional marathon.

In the women's competition, German swimmer Angela Maurer won in a time of 5 hours, 43 minutes and 23 seconds.

Totally 19 out of the 22 swimmers finished the 32-kilometer-long marathon.

Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski welcomed the winners at the finish.
