Bulgaria's sprint hopeful Ivet Lalova qualified for the finals at 100m due to take place later tonight after running out third in her series.
Lalova who scored 11.04 sec, the same time as the Jamaican runner, is seen among the most prospective medal winners in this year's track and field events, especially after her main rival French Cristine Aaron could not rank among the first four in her series.
Belarus' Julia Nesterenko proved to be a real phenomenon in Athens 2004 track and field, clocking the 100m distance for less than 11 seconds. She ran the semin-finals for 10.92 sec.
Bulgarian Lalova is leader in this season's IAAF world list with her top score of 10.77 sec clocked June during the European Championship in Plovdiv.
The 20-year-old Bulgarian won the 100m and 200m double at the European junior championships in 2003.
