The Gold Medal of Maria Grozdeva at 25m air pistol shooting moved Bulgaria from 29th to 14th place in the medals list on Wednesday.

The country shared the same rank as Thailand with one gold and two bronze medals.

Athens 2004 saw Grozdeva winning also the bronze in the 10m air pistol shooting alongside the judo player Georgiev who was also decorated with bronze medal a couple of days ago.

Maria Grozdeva entered history with a new Olympic record of 103.2 points in the finals series.

At the end of the seventh day of the Olympics Games 2004, Thursday, Bulgaria occupied the 21st place in the medals count list.
