Bulgaria's football coach Hristo Stoitchkov is expected to bring teenager Valeri Bojinov in the limelight on Wednesday evening, when the national team encounters Eire.

That will be Stoitchkov's debut on the coaching job, and the second appearance with the national team for Bojinov, 18.

The Lecce forward made his Bulgarian debut earlier this year in a EURO 2004 match against Italy. The Bulgarians lost the game 1-2, and Bozhinov had to watch the first half of the game as a substitute.

Now the teenager seems to have a fair chance to step on field among the starting eleven.

Bojinov joined Lecce at the age of 13, and two years later became the youngest foreign footballer ever to play in Serie A.

He made his debut with the national team of Bulgaria this summer, in a EURO 2004 encounter with the Italians. Bulgaria lost the game 1-2.
