Bulgaria's top shooter Tanyu Kiryakov ranked seventh at the men's 50m air pistol final in the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

The Bulgarian garnered 654,3 points.

Russian Mikhail Nestruev, second in the world ranking list, became an Olympic champion in Athens garnering 663,3 points.

Multi-medalled Tanyu Kiryakov swept the gold in the discipline four years ago in Sydney. He is also a winner of the bronze in Atlanta 1996 and the gold in Seoul 1988 in the Men's 10m Air Pistol event.
