Bulgarian Maria Grozdeva swept the bronze medal in the women's 10 m air pistol in Athens.

Grozdeva won the first medal for Bulgaria at the 2004 Olympics. The Olympic winner from Sydney 2000 qualified for the final with second result of 386 points.

I can't believe I won, Grozdeva said immediately after the contests. She also pointed out that she was extremely happy with her qualifying result

Olena Kostevych of the Ukraine won the gold medal in the women's 10-meter air pistol, defeating Jasna Sekaric of Serbia-Montenegro in a shoot-off in the final. There was also a shoot-off to decide the bronze medal as Grozdeva beat China's Ren Jie.

The Athens medal is Grozdeva's third Olympic bronze in 10 m air pistol after she swept the medals in 1992 in Barcelona and in 1996 in Atlanta. Grozdeva is also the first Bulgarian with four medals won at four different Olympic Games.
