The US began releasing hundreds of Abu Ghraib prisoners on Friday. This is the first mass release since the breaking of prisoners abuse scandal. Several weeks ago, pictures were published to show US soldiers torturing and humiliating Abu Ghraib inmates. On Thursday, the US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld visited the prison.
