For almost a week already a genuine action is unwinding downtown Sofia. Citizens cannot sleep at nights and the cars are not allowed to drive down the yellow cobbles in front of the National Academy of Fine Arts, where the American film production "Derailed" is being shot. Jean-Claude van Damme in person - a world-class action star - is shot night after night among volleys of "bullets", kicks received from his "adversaries" and smoke from the pyro-effects. Two specialists - Bulgarian Vassil Dikov and South African Yanni, see to the fire and explosions which are abundant in the film. The producers from "New Image" have hired two groups of Bulgarian stuntmen for the dangerous scenes - these of Emil Videv and of Kaloyan, nicknamed Kalata. The latter is Jean-Claude van Damme's stuntman in the movie. The star cannot afford to play all by himself all the scenes he is taking part in. It is physically impossible because of the long working hours starting at 8.00 p.m. and winding up at 6.00 a.m. The last night of this series of shooting was on Friday. The scene planned for the night was the most interesting one.
